Description
Bronze evokes effortless chic and classic style – it’s no wonder that people choose bronze when they want their project to impress. Our bronze kick plates are crafted from the most beautiful oil-rubbed bronze, and Anodized bronze finishes for a rich and elegant appearance.
Our oil-rubbed bronze kick plates are PVD which means they require little to no maintanance compared to traditonal bronze. PVD is a titanium color coating applied to a stainless steel cored kick plate meaning they're both strong and weatherproof.
We also have a more cost-effective solution in bronze anodized aluminum. The solid aluminum plate features a deep matt bronze appearance that will not age or discolor over time.
It's worth noting there are quite a few different interpretations of bronze finishes between manufacturers, so one oil rubbed bronze may not precisely match another.
Oil Rubbed Bronze (PVD)
A dark brown/bronze/light black finish that has a warming effect. It has subtle reddish brass tones to achieve an authentic-looking aged patina. As the plate is PVD coated it should not tarnish or discolor over time and is the perfect choice to be used outdoors.

Bronze Aluminum
matt Bronze/dark brown finish applied to the aluminum sheet. Bronze Aluminum is a more cost-effective alternative to oil rubbed bronze and imitation bronze. You can also comfortably install this finish outside, where it will be exposed to the elements without it affecting the quality of finish.
Standard-Duty
Standard-duty is our most commonly used thickness; it is typically the go-to choice for domestic doors and office buildings. Standard duty kick plates offer a great deal of protection while benefiting from good aesthetics. It is suitable for locations with moderate usage.

Pre Drilled Holes (Screws included) With this option, our Kicking plates will come pre-drilled and countersunk with matching fixing screws. We use countersunk Philips head wood screws which will sit flat on the kick plate once fixed. The size of the screw is 5/8” x 6g

Oil Rubbed Bronze (PVD)
PVD finished kick plates are mostly maintenence free and will not tarnish or discolor over time. Routinely wipe the kickplate down with a soft cloth and warm soapy water and dry with a clean towel if the plate becomes dirty.
Bronze Aluminum
Routinely wipe the kickplate down with a soft cloth and warm soapy water. Try to avoid using an abrasive sponge, as this may result in scratching the kick plate and damaging the surface. Be sure to dry the kick plate after cleaning to avoid water spots emerging.
Antibacterial coated kick plates.
As people around the world are reeling from the global Covid-19 pandemic, it’s essential to look for ways to reduce the spread of the virus and possible future viruses. At Kick Plate Direct, were doing our small part and addressing this concern head-on with the introduction of antimicrobial coating to our range of kick plates, which will now be available as an optional extra. This protective antibacterial coating fights viruses in public buildings, allowing you to operate safely with peace of mind.
The coating is a clear lacquer finish that is applied to the kick plates at the point of manufacture. The applied coating is barely visible on most materials, allowing the style of your kick plates to shine through. It prevents 99.9% of mold growth, bacteria, biofilm, and viruses for the entire lifetime of the product. Its efficacy has made it a favorite for industries around the world and is tested to the JIS Z 2801 and ISO 22196 international standards.
We recommend the antimicrobial coating be used in hospitals, care homes, public buildings, and schools – the places where safety and hygiene matter the most. We especially recommend the antibacterial coating be applied to push plates and pull handles, which are used by hands. Adding this treatment to kick plates will help fight against cases of flu, colds, and other viruses for years to come.
How does it work?The antimicrobial technology works by embedding silver ions in the material substrate. These ions destabilize the virus-cell, prevent it from replicating, and effectively kill it.
It is entirely safe and comprised of substances approved by the EPA, EFSA, and FDA. It does not include nano-silver, triclosan, or any other organic antimicrobial additives that have environmental concerns. The coating does not wear off, as it is completely incorporated into the kick plate material. It will remain active for the lifespan of the product. We can have the coating applied to any of our kick plates, and they can be installed in any location, both inside and outside.
