Which Fixing Options Are Available For Kick Plates?


A kick plate is relatively easy to install even if you have the most basic of DIY skills. The most commonly used type of fixing for a door protection plate is the screw fix option; this is because it offers the most permanent and secure fixings. But if you’re not confident drilling holes into your door or you want to preserve the surface of the door, we have several fixing you can apply more easily. We have a range of tapes that are simple to apply- simply peel and stick on.

Types of fixing options we offer:


Pre Drilled Holes (Screws included)

Our Kicking plates will come pre-drilled and countersunk with matching fixing screws. We use countersunk Philips head wood screws, which will sit flat on the kick plate once fixed. The size of the screw is 5/8 x 6”

Self Adhesive
Strong double-sided tape is factory applied to the back of the kickplate. This peel and stick method must only be applied once the door has been clean and dried. You can also apply some liquid nails to the back of the kick plate for a more permanent fixing.

Screw Fix and self-adhesive
This option comes with the factory-applied adhesive tape on the reverse of the plate; the self- adhesive tape firmly holds the kick plate in place on the door while the fixing screws are installed.

The fixings will be countersunk Philips head wood screws, which will sit flat on the kick plate once fixed. The size of the screw is 5/8 x 6”

Magnetic Tape
Two rails of factory-applied magnetic tape are installed to the rear of the kicking plate. This magnetic backing provides a secure fitting to steel doors and can be removed at any time.

No Holes
With this option, the kickplate will come with a smooth back. You can self apply a liquid nails solution and stick to the door for a lasting hold.
